Quick Day Trip

Josh and I were able to take a quick day/night trip getaway to Iowa last weekend. We had some friends that have season tickets to Iowa State's games. They were unable to make to the Texas A&M vs Iowa State game and gave us the tickets. We calculated that it had been almost 4 years since we had been to a A&M game, way to long considering we had season tickets for 4 years. Thankfully our sweet friend Julie said she would be brave enough to watch the boys for us while we made the 5 1/2 hr drive. We had a wonderful time getting to have some quiet time together. We even enjoyed the long quiet drive. Been a long time since I have traveled without kiddos. It was a beautiful fall day, perfect for game day at 2:30 pm. Texas A&M won which made it even better since we were in the Alumni section on Homecoming. We drove a few hours back after the game and stopped at a hotel with enough time to find somewhere to stop and watch the World Series game. We spent the night, got up super early and made it back to meet the boys at church. What a much needed fun quick getaway!

We laughed because EVERYTHING involved agriculture, kind of liked it. Even the commercials on the bill board had farm trucks racing and all the ads were for seed and fertilizer companies.
