In his heart a man plans his course, but the LORD determines his steps.

Valentine's Scavenger Hunt

Thanks to Pinterest I came up with the idea to do a family Scavenger's Hunt after our Valentine's Dinner. My boys had a blast with this and are already asking when we can do it again. I loved the fact that the one I followed online had scriptures to go along with each clue.

Clue one was read by Josh and off they went...
To the place they have 2 books, pray and lay their head.. their bed.
Josh received a HEART ATTACK at the first station (hearts with different things I love about him)
The first Location: Josh's Heart Attack and Cardinals Cars along with a card that said "Love is Patient". Patiently sit and play a game of Match with one another.

Playing a game of Valentine's Match.
Clue 2 was to go to the place where you splish splash take a bath and brush your teeth and comb your hair. Their bathroom. In this room was a card that said "Love is KIND". Hug the ones you love. With candy that said Hugs.
 Hugging those we love.
Then they were off downstairs to the next clue.
More of hugging those we love.
Clue 3 was Choo Choo says Thomas. The cards read "Love and faithfulness meet together, righteousness and peace kiss one another." Kiss those you love. Isn't this shot great of Bransen's chocolate face and Josh kissing him.
Josh loved his gift, I love you to the MOON and back.
Off they went to the next clue where they find mom most of the time - The Kitchen and find the radio.  Here were the clues and instructions once they got there.
They turned on the radio to one of their favorite songs and danced and sang to Jesus. It was so FUN!!
 DANCING!!

Last Clue was the room we spend time with as a family and take the rest of the evening to spend time having fun with those we love.
 Opening Gifts

They loved their new Leappad Games as they sat and played them quietly the next 20 minutes while Josh and I got to visit.

Happy Valentine's Day

God is Love 1 John 4:8
For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only son, that whosoever believes in him shall not perish but have everlasting life. John 3:16

This was my reflection all throughout Valentine's Day. As I listened to many proclaim that Valentines is just a silly Hallmark Holiday, I thought why not use it as a day to focus completely on God's love. The ultimate display and example of Love. We talked about that with our boys and then spent the day showing each other how much we loved one another.

Our evening included a nice sit down, dining room candle light dinner. We then ended the night with a fun scavenger hunt, I will share that in the next post. It was so much fun and something I plan to do again soon.

 A family picture before dinner
 Me and my handsome hubby
 My three handsome men
 Love these little guys!
CHEESE with Brayden practicing his picture taking skills
Brayden helping make Chocolate Strawberries for Dessert
Our table decor - roses, candles, marshmellows, M&Ms and mini balloons
Love Eyes - Mini Love Balloons for table decor
 Dinner's READY!
A Shrimp boil with shrimp for Brayden and corn for Bransen, the rest for me and Josh.
BREAKFAST for my Valentine's!

Could life's interruptions really be divine interventions?

The Bible Study that I am doing right now is Jonah: Navigating a Life Interrupted by Priscilla Shirer. The theme for her Bible Study over the book of Jonah is Life's interruptions can be seen as divine interventions. Just this first week of studying I have started to become much more aware of the interruptions in my life. I have started thinking back on my perspective of interruptions and how many of these large disturbances in my life (like moving) were seen as negative. As I look back, it is so amazing to see God totally at work in each scenario. His plan was so not my plan, neither are his thoughts my thoughts but way above my thoughts ( Isaiah 55:8). Each interruption, so I thought, is actually his divine intervention where he has chosen to use me as a significant part of His plan to do some Kingdom work for him for eternity. I wonder how many of his amazing plans I have missed out on for failure to see the interrupted life as a significant and privileged life. I am praying that I will yield to God's plan and interruptions and be able to see them as DIVINE INTERVENTIONS just for me to bring Glory to his name!
