We spent last Saturday morning at our local St. Charles County Fair. This event is just perfect for our family and something we all enjoy. We had been last year and were looking forward to going back especially for the turtle races. We had found our little turtle while leaving Branson a couple weeks ago and were hoping to keep him alive for the races. We still have the turtle and he is a highlight of both the boys days. They love Tom the Turtle, not sure now if we will ever be able to release him back into the wild.
The boys with Tom the Turtle getting ready for the race!
Excited for our ribbons! Very glad they handed them out to all. The boys knew Tom did not win the race but were really happy to have a ribbon for participating.
Dock Dog Competition
Watching the Dock Dogs
The local pond had this strange duck walk right up to us. Notice the 88 cooler, not filled with drinks but home of the turtle while at the fair.
Watching the cattle show. They were pretty impressed when I told them I use to show steers.
A big fan of the rabbits.
Big turkeys
And Roosters
A huge goose.
Getting Tom registered for the big race
Handing Tom over for his race.
The boys looking for Tom in the laundry basket.
And they are off.... Look how small Tom was, we were afraid he got a little intimidated. Oh well, there is always next year
I'm a little afraid this is what they will want to race next year, huge bullfrogs.
They look pretty good as showmen.

Josh's comment was "Good thing there were a few dead ones so we could catch one"
