Visits with Santa

Our Moms Club had Santa come visit during our Christmas Party. He read the children a story and gave them a book. We all got to let the kids take their pictures with him. Brayden was not scared at all this year but as soon as I sat Bransen down in his lap it was over. We then went to Bass Pro Saturday as a family to do some shopping and got to let the boys see Santa again with Josh with us. They did the same thing. Brayden walked right up and Bransen lost it. Made for great pictures.

Struggling right now with what we want to do about the whole Santa issue. Not a big fan of him overtaking Christmas and don't want it to be our main focus or all that is talked about when we discuss Christmas. If you just stop and listen around during this time of year he is about all you hear little kids talk about. We are keeping Christ in Christmas and trying to focus our thoughts on that not Santa. For now we are allowing Santa to be a part of the other things we do for Christmas, like a tree and presents and snowman and stockings. We are not concentrating on Santa at this time or mentioning him bringing us gifts down our chimney or in our stockings. Will see how that goes and for now that works for our family. For now we have a few adorable pictures of the boys sitting in Santa's lap.

Brayden just mentioned to Santa that he might want a "shoot gun" so he can shoot some deer (as he points at Santa's reindeer. What? Where did that come from. Not sure!

Your boys are getting more and more handsome. Ryland had the same response as Branson. I love that you and Josh focus on the CHRIST in Christmas.

Pictures were great! next year maybe BRansen will enjoy Santa. Glad you're not making him the reason behind CHRISTmas. WE've always hoped that our children grands and greats would know the true meaning of CHRISTmas. Thanks for keeping our dream alive! gramma gramma

Love Bransen's reaction. Annabel tried to pull his beard off. I am with you on trying to figure out how to handle Santa. This is the first year Madison is really catching on to Christmas. So far, she has been intrigued by seeing him, but I am not sure that she even knows that he brings presents ... at least she has never mentioned it. I think we may get through this year without making a big deal out of Santa. Yea!
