Thanksgiving Week part 1

Our Thanksgiving adventure began the Sunday before Thanksgiving. Josh's parents had flown to visit us in Wentzville the weekend before Thanksgiving. We had a wonderful weekend together while they were here. Must have been busy because some how I did not manage to get any pictures. We spent the time just visiting and enjoying them at our house. We went and shopped a little, went to the park, played in the backyard, watched the Aggies get a fun win over Nebraska. They watched the boys for us one evening while we got to go on a much needed date. We hadn't been on one since July when my mom was here to watch the boys. Josh recruited his dad to help him get the house ready for winter and get decorations ready for the outside of the house. Thank you Kevin and Ronda for the visit and the help around the house.

After our enjoyable weekend together the boys and I set out for the 13 hour trek to Texas with Josh's parent's. I was pleasantly suprised with how well the boys did on this drive. They were great! All the prayers worked! Brayden was very entertained by watching his DVD's, playing cars and stickers with me in the back, and playing what's in that truck as we drove down the road. Grandpa also taught him how to make trucks honk. Bransen slept quite a bit of the drive and enjoyed laughing at me and Brayden while he was awake along with eating whatever I could find to give him.

A funny story from our drive. We were all ready for our lunch stop at about 1 pm. Bransen was letting us know he was hungry so as we pulled into a town we saw a billboard for Braum's that said playground and food turn here. We were not sure if it was the exit we were on or the next. I quickly looked it up on our Garmin and followed it to the nearest Braum's. Our first clue that it was the wrong exit should have been the dirt road we turned on. But we were excited to eat at Braum's plus have a playground so we kept driving. Next we turned on a small rural road. Our curiosity then got the best of us so we kept trucking. We were led to Braum's Dairy! No food and the only playground was an open field with dairy cows. We got a quick picture and a good laugh and turned back around to the interstate knowing from then on it was best to not venture off the main road.

That was crazy, but made for a good memory for our 1st cross country trip. Grandpa
